Sweet Detachment

On growing, creating, and capturing the moment.

All About Tricia

What is there to say about me?

I'm in my thirties, I'm a married mother of two, and I work in an office; but don't let appearances deceive you. I've had a very interesting life and more than a few stories that would raise some eyebrows. However, I did leave most of that back in my twenties. My thirties have been more about creativity than experimentation.

I digress...

Perhaps the most significant and constant thing about me is that I've been a writer since I was four years old. My earliest memory is of sitting at my kitchen table, asking my mother how to spell "clean" so I could record what I had done that day for posterity. Despite such an early start, however, journaling didn't become a regular habit until I was around eleven. Since then I have kept a fairly consistent and very candid record of my life, documenting everything from my first kiss, to leaving home, to meeting the man I was destined to marry. In addition, I have kept multiple blogs, written volumes of poetry (everything from melodramatic teen angst to reflections on life and odes to people and places that I love), begun a collection of children's stories, and I have a lifelong dream of finally completing a novel (I have begun many!).

When I'm not writing I enjoy spending time with my family, yoga and meditation, growing things (especially from seed, so exciting!), people watching in the city, taking pictures of pretty much anything, exploring the beach at low tide, scuba diving in the depths, and hiking through or sliding down the mountains.

And that's pretty much me in a nutshell...

Help....I'm in a nutshell.....or just plain nuts...
